A beautiful little town that somehow captures the sea- side feel of Goa with the hill- station feel of Ooty. Add on to that the autumn colours in the trees.....The 1-hr drive from the airport to Nagasaki was stunning. Excellent roads, beautiful cars, fast yet orderly traffic. We also went through a number of well- constructed tunnels, since of them almost 3km long.

Ordering lunch was a challenge, since hardly anybody knows English. I had to point out what I wanted from pictures like this.....

Another challenge was the chopsticks. I finally decided to abandon the effort completely. The unfortunate consequence was that by the end of the meal I had 2 children watching with open mouth as I ate Japanese food with fork and spoon.
I'll be back tomorrow to eat with my fingers!
